I cut my writing teeth in the small press back in the 1980s. One publication in particular was Peeping Tom, an indie mag that gave budding horror/sci fi writers a platform. I also did a lot of the artwork for it too, back in the day before digital photomanipulation. A new anthology, The Dark Heart of Peeping Tom, is now available on Amazon, and features some of those raw horror stories. Mine included. The Odalisque was inspired by my visit to the Imperial Harem at the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. Set in the reign of Ibrahim the Mad in 1648, it tells the tale of a murderous concubine and the vile controlling evil of Sol, the Chief Black Eunuch. I also did the cover artwork for this book.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I really love Stephen King books. He's been a bit hit and miss over the past few years, and this book got mixed reviews on Amazon, but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it has a kind of carny atmosphere you'd expect about a funfair at a seaside town, with tones of The Shining ringing through the pages. Recommended.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I liked this book, and it held my attention right up until the end. But the ending was a bit vague in that how a certain person meets their end is kind of vague and I wanted a bit more info on it. Well written and good characterisation.

I don't just write.   I'm also a digital artist.

I read a lot.   My reading tastes are varied, and I'm recently engrossed in a book called The Betrayal by Laura Elliot.   Slow start for me, as I got into the characters, but it hooked me more than halfway through.   There's a good mix of suspense, human error and bitchiness.  Recommended so far. I'm still reading it..
